Red Dyed Wood Chips

Red Dyed Wood Chips is comprised of cedar and plain wood.  The red dye contains iron oxide, which has been used for centuries for red colorant.  The dye is nontoxic and similar to food coloring.  Red Dyed Wood Chips is recommended for use of mulch in a medium to large planting area.  Red Dyed Wood Chips have a nice radiant look and when spread around greenery it catches your attention immediately.  Red Dyed Wood Chips have been a fast-growing choice for gardeners.

PRODUCT USES: 

  • Ground Cover / Mulch 

PRODUCT APPLICATION: 

  • Recommended application rate for ground cover/mulch is a minimum of 2 to 4 inches deep.  One cubic yard covers 324 sqft 1” deep.
  • Pre-application of a balanced fertilizer or A-1 Lifelike 3/8” Compost in planted areas is recommended to prevent nitrogen draw from the soil as the bark decomposes.
  • Once the dye is set on the colored wood chips it is “permanently adhered” to the wood chips, however, it is still recommended to lay down a tarp first when unloading onto a driveway to prevent the Red Dyed Wood Chips from “possibly” leaving a light stain.
